Encouraging Lawbreaking

HT to the Arkansas Journal for this video of Lou Dobbs discussing groups like the "Friendship Coalition" in Arkansas. It seems to be a group of extremely misguided church folk and businesses.

I think the church folk have been duped into believing that being nice trumps intelligent policy and even obeying the law. And as the video points out, some businesses are more interested in chasing the dollar than they are their patriotic duty to uphold American laws and American sovereignty.

I have a friend who owns a construction company, and he's told me almost the same thing you see here. If you obey the law and don't hire illegal aliens, you're at a disadvantage when bidding against other companies for a job--they can do it cheaper than you can, because they're paying their illegals peanuts off the books.

In addition to the multiple reasons we have for enforcing our own immigration laws, we owe it to law-abiding businesses to level the playing field. Some businesses shouldn't be rewarded for breaking the law.
