Alaska Governor to Congress: Drill!

If there was a danger of environmental devastation from drilling for oil, you would expect the people and governor of a state where it was being considered to adamantly oppose that drilling.

So why are the people of Alaska and Alaska's governor, Sarah Palin, so strongly in favor of opening the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) for drilling? Maybe because in addition to the additional jobs it would bring and the additional domestic oil it would provide to the nation, that risk alleged by environmental extremists doesn't really exist.

WorldNetDaily says Governor Palin supports drilling for oil in Alaska so strongly she wrote a letter to Democrat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other congressional leaders asking them to get the lead out!

"What will it take for Congress to enact comprehensive energy policy?" Palin asks in the letter, dated yesterday. "In my opinion, the debate about energy policy is no longer theoretical and abstract. Our failure to enact an energy policy is having real consequences for every American in their daily lives and has begun to affect America's place in the world."

It seems about the only people in America who don't want to open up Alaska to more oil drilling are environmental extremists and Democrats in congress.

If you want to see gas prices go down, maybe it's time for a change in congressional leadership in November...

Yes, Anonymous, you have a right to your opinion, and the fact that you're looking at current events at a young age is promising.

You should know, though, that we've already been drilling for oil in Alaska for decades and not only are the animals not being hurt, they're thriving. Both the the caribou population (which environmental extremists said would be devastated by drilling) are thriving. Their population is greater than it was back then, and I have it on the testimony of someone who's been there that the caribou love the warmth and shelter the drilling platforms provide.

There's a lot of lies and misleading things being said on this issue. You should continue paying attention to current events and find out all you can about them so that no one misleads you.

Thanks for commenting!

Yes, the mosquitoes and blue flies need our help. After all, that's all that's there in this barren permafrost bog except twice a year when the caribou walk by when migrating.

This link below is where they are wanting to drill, not the pictures they show you on TV. Beautiful pristine wilderness, huh?
