Gore Not as Green as Advertised

According to a USA Today post today, environmental extremist Al Gore isn't as green as he would have us believe.

While the article assures us he uses "renewable energy credits" to offset the "damage" to the environment done by his flying all over the globe in a private plane, other aspects of his lifestyle belay the environmental commitment he asks of us unwashed commoners:

- he and tipper live in a 10,000-square-foot, 20-room, eight-bathroom home in TN
- they also live in a 4,000-square-foot home in VA (must be their summer cottage)
- while others in Nashville use earth-friendly wind power, the Gores do not
- he owns large stock holdings in Occidental (Oxy) Petroleum (thought those oil companies were EVIL)
- gets $20K a year in royalties from the land he owns over a zinc mine which was cited by TN for polluting a nearby river with "large quantities of barium, iron and zinc"

But then, that's how the Left has always operated. All that "sacrifice" stuff is for the little people. As you may recall, the elites in the Soviet Union wanted for nothing, while the average joes waited in line for bread. You might also remember the Forbes report a few months ago revealing communist dictator Fidel Castro as one of the richest men in the world (with a personal fortune of about $900 million, almost twice as rich as Queen Elizabeth of England) while his people live in squalor.

Of course George Orwell explained this phenomenon for us a long time ago in his "Animal Farm" story: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others." Think Algore says, "Oink Oink?"

Talk about "an inconvenient truth!"
