The Gods of Liberalism Revisited

The lie hasn't changed, and we still fall for it as easily as ever.  But how can we escape the snare?

Saddam Says He's Been Beaten in Detention

Saddam would make a good liberal.

After a witness in his trial testified that Saddam's goons had tortured people by ripping off their skin, Saddam then bloviates about some alleged beating and torture he's been subjected to in jail.

That's just like liberals do! They always accuse other people of doing the exact same thing they do! This domestic spying non-scandal is typical: previous liberal administrations have done the same thing (though not in a global war on terror, just during peacetime), but when Bush does it to prevent another 911 IT'S IMPEACHABLE!!!

They also like to "steal" language that reveals what they're doing. Like how Leftists try to revise history to say the Founders weren't Christians, that the First Amendment was intended to keep religion totally out of the public eye, and so on, and then when you point out that their revisionism is without foundation, they accuse YOU of revisionism just for pointing out THEIR attempt to revise history.

Saddam is also tries his best to throw a money wrench in the works when good people are trying to bring bad people to justice; he even throws as good a tantrum as the Senate liberals.

Maybe the libs should consider Saddam for the '08 ticket. After all, still they're doing their best to legitimize him.

Bob ... can you show me one "liberal" who feels sorry for Saddam Hussein?

In the meantime, you and your "pro-lifers" can continue to support the sacrifice of American life in Iraq.

for that matter, can you show me one President that has spied on U.S. citizens without a warrant and broke the law to do it?

Only one has. George W. Bush.

I'd be curious to know who these "previous liberal administrations" are that have done this. I'm sure a lot of others would be curious about this information you have.

It's hard to find liberals who'll come out and actually say they feel sorry for him, but they sure act as if they wish he were back in power.

As for those previous lib administrations who spied on Americans, try Clinton and Carter. It's not a secret; Drudge posted it last night.

Take a look at http://www.fas.org/irp/offdocs/eo/eo-12949.htm and http://www.fas.org/irp/offdocs/eo12139.htm. Do you remember Clinton's Carnivore?

The Clinton and Carter cases "exposed" by Drudge have been widely debunked in the last 48 hours.

Drudge left out a key phrase in what he posted. Clinton and Carter's directives sought and received warrants under FISA. That's the major difference here. Bush broke the law and spyed on U.S. citizens without a court order.

Check out the facts

I didn't say any libs would admit it; just that they act like it.

Don't know about Drudge being debunked, but one of Clinton's guys says Bush had legal authority (http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/chi-0512210142dec21,0,3553632.story?coll=chi-newsopinioncommentary-hed).

You guys would impeach Bush for peeling the crust off his bread, if you could. Funny, like I said before, you can always find liberals trying to stop good guys from bringing bad guys to justice.

Oh, could you name a single innocent American prosecuted as a result of this surveillance?

And when you're done sifting through that huge list, could you name a single innocent American who's even been surveilled?
