Obama Pledges to Gut Marriage, Family

I suppose it's good at least to know what we're getting from a candidate. So often they obfuscate and dodge, and won't really tell us what they stand for and what they plan to do. Not so for Barak Obama.

Baptist Press reports that Obama has pledged to the homosexual community to use the presidency to undermine marriage, family and the ability of people of faith to speak out about this dangerous and immoral lifestyle.

Of course, Obama couched the pledge in more politically-correct terms, such as allowing homosexuals to "marry," "adopt" and to abolish "hate crimes" (how many people commit crimes against other because of their love and concern for the victim?).

Obama's statement "Equality is a Moral Imperative" can be read on his campaign website here.

Here are some excerpts:

In the U.S. Senate, I have co-sponsored bills that would equalize tax treatment for same-sex couples and provide benefits to domestic partners of federal employees. And as president, I will place the weight of my administration behind the enactment of the Matthew Shepard Act to outlaw hate crimes and a fully inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act to outlaw workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

If you run a Bible and book store, will you be forced to hire a drag queen? If you are a church or ministry, will you be forced to hire someone openly living a lifestyle antithetical to your message?
As your President, I will use the bully pulpit to urge states to treat same-sex couples with full equality in their family and adoption laws.

So Obama believes in robbing children of two natural parents and both sex role models. Don't our children have enough problems facing them already?
I support the complete repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) – a position I have held since before arriving in the U.S. Senate. While some say we should repeal only part of the law, I believe we should get rid of that statute altogether. Federal law should not discriminate in any way against gay and lesbian couples, which is precisely what DOMA does. I have also called for us to repeal Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, and I have worked to improve the Uniting American Families Act so we can afford same-sex couples the same rights and obligations as married couples in our immigration system.

This is why we have pushed for a Federal Marriage Amendment for so long. It's much harder to wipe out part of the constitution than it is a simple law, like DOMA. Obama has declared war on marriage, opening this God-instituted foundation of society to mean anything.

He also seeks to undermine the cohesion, discipline and morality of our Armed Forces.
We also need a president who’s willing to confront the stigma – too often tied to homophobia– that continues to surround HIV/AIDS.

Obama implies there is an unfair connection between AIDS and homosexuality, yet the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has reported that more than 70% of AIDS cases arise from homosexual activity. Why is Obama denying reality? Do we need a president who denies reality?

Interestingly, the title of Obama's statement is misleading in typical liberal fashion. Are not homosexuals protected by the same murder, theft, assault, etc. laws as everyone else? Are not homosexuals free to marry people of the opposite sex, just as heterosexuals are?

The "equality" bit is somewhat misleading, but of course if you want special rights, you have to portray yourself as disadvantaged, and if you want to pander to such groups, you have to use their same misleading language.

I think the title of Obama's statement should more appropriately be titled "Egalitarianism as an Immoral Imperative."

We don't need a president who will undermine our most basic social institutions. We don't need a president who will expose children to further disorder and chaos in their formative lives. We don't need a president who denies reality. We don't need a president who panders to special interest groups who do not have America's well being at heart.

I hope Americans will remember this, this election season

You anti gay sorts are pathetic!Equality will triumph and your bigoted views will be consigned to the dustbin of history!

"Bigoted" implies and ignorant and unfair characterization of another person. My statements about homosexuality, marriage and family are well-researched, well-informed and completely fair, so "bigoted" is inaccurate.

As for the "dustbin of history," are you talking about the same "dusbtin of history" that contains cultures that have embraced unnatural and unrestrained sexuality?

It isn't a loving act to encourage someone to engage in self-destructive behavior that also hurts those closest to them.

If you'd care to debate the accuracy of anything I said, Anonymous, come on back and do so. Otherwise, I'll just assume that your comment was a bigoted statement based on ignorance.

Wow Bob, all of your "well-researched" and "well-informed" opinions are hardly that. For instance, the use of the term "unnatural" and "unrestrained" demonstrate your extremely uninformed opinion. Additionally, immorality is not a valid legal reason to alter the constitution to discriminate against a group of people based on their gender. I'd suggest researching beyond the limited and faulty set of data you have used.

Also, for your edification: your definition of bigoted is incorrect.

A bigot is: n. One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ.

I think altering the constitution to force a group of people to adhere to your own moral code falls clearly under this definition. You, sir, are a bigot.

The religous are delusional by nature, so of course they are unable to tell fact from fiction. These are the same people who believe in burning bushes & voices from the sky.

They also tend to be the same people who were for slavery, against blacks voting, against blacks marrying whites, against women voting, etc. etc.

The world is moving on and leaving your pathetic religion behind. Come over to the dark side, you know you want to......

mythicjustice, you mean a bigot is like a homosexual or homosexual apologist who is strongly partial to ones own group (like wanting to have sex only with those of his/her same sex?), and is intolerant of those who believe homosexuality is immoral, unnatural and unhealthy? Sounds like I might not be the only "bigot" around here.

Altering the Constitution to force a group of people to adhere to their own moral code is exactly what homosexuals and homosexual apologists want to do, either by law or by judicial fiat. They want our nation to embrace a sexual practice that they believe is moral, but most for all of human history have considered immoral (including God--He made us all, so His vote counts the most); that they believe is healthy, yet a mountain of research--including the Centers for Disease Control--tell us is deadly for a host of reason; and is unrestrained because practitioners don't discipline themselves to have sex with the opposite sex as God and nature (check out the parts; even in plumbing, male and male/female and female don't function correctly together) teach us is the correct expression of human sexuality.

It's not bigoted when the facts are on your side.

Actually, WeTheSheeple, it was God who said slavery was wrong, that skin color doesn't matter, and that men and women have equal standing before the Lord.

It was also Christians--among others--who fought against slavery, civil rights and justice.

Gay rights are civil rights. Period. Equality for all, not just for some, is the foundation of this country. Let's not forget this. - written by a straight, christian without hate in her heart

“I hear people saying things that I don’t think are very Christian with respect to people who are gay and lesbian.” Barack Obama

Bob Ellis said...

I'm sorry but you've been deluded, Anne. Homosexual rights are not civil rights.

Homosexuals have the same rights as heterosexuals. They are protected by the same laws that protect the rest of us from murder, assault, theft, etc. They also have the same right to marry someone of the opposite sex that heterosexuals have.

Anything more is a special right. And what homosexuals want is based on a behavior, not an innate trait like sex or skin color. If homosexuality was innate, God would not have made it so clear that he finds homosexuality abhorrent. It turns God's design for human sexuality upside down. There are usually practical consequences for moral transgressions, and the tremendous health hazards that come with homosexual behavior only reinforce that.

If you're really a Christian, Anne, go back and read your Bible. God makes it very clear in both Old and New Testaments, from Genesis to the Gospels to the letters of Paul that homosexuality violates His design for human sexuality, and it's a sin that leaves a person out of good fellowship with God.

Making excuses for homosexuality is like making excuses for drunkenness, gambling addiction, or any other type of harmful sin. It isn't loving; it only encourages the person caught up in it to sink deeper into the pit of sin and suffering.

He's not going to destroy ALL marriage and family -- only marriage and family for white Christianists. The Gay/Black agenda will win the day, and the whites will lose. Sadly, now that you're on to us, we'll have to try something else. How about a War on Easter!

Bob, I enjoy your comments and opinion more and more these days.
And I want to thank you. The more you write, the closer gays and lesbians are to their freedom to marry...and their freedoms in general. Thanks again. Keep up the good work. You're a valuable asset to the movement for gay and lesbian rights.

Good to hear from you again, Barry. I hope you're doing well.

I'm sure you hope my truth-telling is helping homosexuals, but I'm reasonably sure the opposite is true. I believe more and more people are beginning to see through the politically-correct feel-good propaganda and see that not only is marriage and family under brutal assault, but that homosexuality really isn't normal, natural and healthy as the media would have us believe.

Here's to hoping you see that soon, too. God wants so much better for you, Barry. He loved you enough to die on a cross to give you access to a better life. I hope you'll take advantage of that soon.
