Joe Biden: Lowering Expectations and an Obfuscation

The Politico reports Vice President-elect Joe Biden is working on lowering expectations of the Obama administration:

“I have been contacted by so many world leaders. Their expectation for Barack’s presidency is overwhelming,” Biden said. “They are so hungry to have an American leader who they think has a policy that reflects our stated values as well as one they can talk to.”

The lady who figured Barack Obama for her sugar-daddy, so she wouldn't have to worry about putting gas in her car or paying her mortgage, will not be the only one disappointed in the Obama administration.

A lot of folks are going to find out that the Obamessiah is a pretender, that he really isn't "The One." Just as many false messiahs preceded Jesus in the ancient world, so Obama is a false messiah now.

Taxpayers, prepare! We may be shelling out more of our hard-earned dollars to pay for therapy for Obamaniacs who get slapped by reality in the next year or so. It may be too difficult for them to accept that, yes, even with a Marxist like Obama in the White House, there will still be a few things they will actually have to do for themselves.

On a different note, I think Biden made one of those verbal mistakes he's famous for when he made the statement I quoted above. I believe this is what he meant to say:
“I have been contacted by so many world leaders. Their expectation for Barack’s presidency is overwhelming,” Biden said. “They are so hungry to have an American leader who they think has a policy that reflects their stated values as well as one they can get to go along with their ambitions.”

From what we've heard out of Obama, and what we've seen of the amoral leadership in the world community, this is almost certainly a more accurate statement.

Responsible Reaction from the Left

Earlier today I read about the incident where an Iraqi journalist malcontent (much like some of the "mainstream" media types in this country) threw a shoe at the visiting President Bush.

Frankly, I wouldn't have liked to see such a thing happen to the despicable excuse for a president that Bill Clinton was, nor would I like to see it happen to President-elect Barack Obama.

The President of the United States represents this nation, especially when overseas dealing with international relations. So when this Iraqi journalist (who is obviously unappreciative of the freedom President Bush bought for him and the blood of 4,000 U.S. soldiers have paid for on his behalf) threw a show at President Bush, he threw that shoe at you, at me, and at our country.

Sadly and predictably, in reaction I saw the usual back-of-the-classroom, slumped-down-in-the-seat snickering and chuckling from some on the Left...those who don't have the good sense to put their country first...or even second or third.

But a big hat tip to Todd Epp at the liberal SD Watch for being the grownup in the room.

While voicing his discontent with President Bush, Todd nevertheless condemns this incident:

But in no way do I find today’s attack against him by an Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at him funny or appropriate. I was shocked when I saw the footage today.

Thanks, Todd. Thanks for standing up for our president, our country, and setting a good example for others to follow.

Repairing the Foundations of a Nation Under Assault, Part 2

Previously I discussed the need to rebuild America's foundation at the most basic level in order to save this "last best hope."

A majority of Americans have forgotten our historic roots of freedom, personal responsibility, and limited government. It's not enough anymore just to point out the need for a return to traditional Americanism; too many people don't understand what that means and lack the capacity for analytical thought. We must go back to the basics and explain why traditional Americanism is good and why the modern trend toward socialism is bad. People in our self-centered culture must be educated as to "what's in it for them" before they can move on to acting and voting in a manner based on "what's in it for society" or better still "what's right."

We will need to educate our fellow Americans because the institutions which have historically done so--the institutions of education and journalism--have demonstrated they are no longer willing to do so. Traditional Americans must therefore work in and within those institutions to foster change. We must also engage our fellow Americans on a personal level--at work, at church, across the back yard fence, and at the ball game.

But educating and providing facts is still not enough. Fundamental change is needed in the hearts of the American people. Since leaving our roots, we have spawned generations who have not cultivated a moral compass. We will not return America to societal greatness unless we cultivate a strong moral compass in the people.

PART 1

People also no longer understand the relationship between private morality and public behavior. Since the days of Bill Clinton we've been told that it doesn't matter if someone is a scoundrel and dirtbag in their personal life; what matters is whether they're a good leader.

But we saw with Bill Clinton that his "private morality" or lack thereof dragged the nation through the mud hole of his depraved infidelity. We also saw him lie to the American people--not only about his unzipped fly but about policy issues--almost every time his mouth opened. He lied about seeing black churches burning in Arkansas, reducing the size of government (he gutted the military while bloating the bureaucracy), lied about reining in the welfare state (congressional Republicans did this), and he lied about reducing spending (again, congressional Republicans did this). It was almost impossible to keep up with his lies and lack of faithfulness to the people he was elected to serve.

And in the same way he was derelict in his duty to be faithful to his wife, he was derelict in his duty to protect the United States...

Repairing the Foundations of a Nation Under Assault, Part 1

Many conservatives are not afraid to speak their mind and even speak up in the public arena for their values. But almost none of us (myself included) are consistently doing what must be done to positively impact our decaying culture.

Many of us grew up having been taught the founding principles of our great nation. Often our parents told us of our country's noble ideals and the things that make America great. If we grew up several decades ago, we might even have been lucky enough to be taught some of this in public school.

People who recognize the great founding principles of the United States, understand the inestimable value of personal freedom and responsibility, and cherish our heritage of limited government are usually known as "conservatives."

Even if we weren't taught these things as children, some of us have learned somewhere along the way that the liberal policies proffered by the Democrats (really Marxist policies) are antithetical to the principles of Americanism. People who didn't know this to begin with but later came to realize it are usually described as "liberals who were mugged by reality."

Sadly, few are learning these lessons today, and few have for decades.

Our public education system has acquiesced to if not embraced liberalism and has foisted that ideology on our children even as it has attempted to erase the history of our Christian heritage and origins of limited government.

Our media establishment sold out lock, stock and barrel to liberalism decades ago. From the movies to television to music to journalism, there is only a constant stream of revisionist history, derision of traditional values and shameless promotion of liberalism as the ultimate and only reality. Moral ambiguity is the best we can hope for in almost all media fare.

This flood of propaganda has proven very effective in producing one or more generations that are almost entirely ignorant of their heritage, oblivious to world history, and lack even the basic analytical skills necessary to sift truth from lies.

This brainwashed culture is what we face in the arena of ideas to day, and it is what conservatives must deal with as we try to turn our culture around from its headlong plunge toward the abyss.

We don't have to like it, but we must acknowledge it, deal with it, compensate for it...and then overcome it.

Michelle Obama: Finally Proud of Her Country

Michelle Obama has apparently come a long way in her appreciation of America.

"What a country"

"For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country"

"It's easier to hold on to your own stereotypes and misconceptions, it makes you feel justified in your own ignorance...That's America"

Hmmm. My love for and pride in my country has never been dependent on my winning something or someone I love winning something.

What does that say about you when the level of your patriotism is based on the level of your personal gain?

Terrorist Bill Ayers Interview on ABC

Below is the video of domestic terrorist Bill Ayers on Good Morning America.(To the left is a pic of Ayers in a 2001 NYT article doing what he does best: trampling the American flag)

In the ABC interview, he admits having served on boards with Barack Obama, having helped launch Obama's career in his living room, and that Obama was a "family friend."

If you happened to have heard any of the minuscule "mainstream" media coverage of Obama's association with this Marxist anti-American terrorist, you might know that Ayers helped found the Weather Underground terrorist group that bombed the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, along with several court houses and police stations.

Ayers even said on September 11, 2001--the day terrorists killed nearly 3,000 Americans--that "I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough."

He is now trying to distance himself from this statement since his buddy is headed for the White House, but he actually said it. You can read a quote of Ayers saying that here at the New York Times.

You can find out what Bill Ayers believes from his terrorist manifesto "Prairie Fire" here.

Ayers lists some of the places his organization bombed in Prairie Fire:

- Haymarket police statue, Chicago

- Chicago police cars

- New York City police headquarters

- Marin County Courthouse

- Long Island City Courthouse

- Department of Corrections, San Francisco

- Office of California Prisons, Sacramento

- Department of Corrections, Albany NY

- 103rd Precinct of New York City police

- Harvard Center for International Affairs

- U.S. Capitol

- MIT research center

- The Pentagon

- Draft and recruiting centers

- ROTC buildings

- ITT Latin America Headquarters

- National Guard Headquarters, Washington D.C.

- Presidio Army Base and MP Station, San Francisco

- Federal Offices of Health, Education and Welfare, San Francisco

This is what Ayers thinks of your country, Americans:
We are a guerrilla organization. We are communist women and men, underground in the United States for more than four years. We are deeply affected by the historic events of our time in the struggle against U.S. imperialism.

Our intention is to disrupt the empire, to incapacitate it, to put pressure on the cracks, to make it hard to carry out its bloody functioning against the people of the world, to join the world struggle, to attack from the inside.

Our intention is to engage the enemy, to wear away at him, to harass him, to isolate him, to expose every weakness, to pounce, to reveal his vulnerability.

And though Ayers doesn't bomb buildings anymore, his hatred of America hasn't changed. Just this year, he has railed against capitalism and the United States on his blog.

I don't know about you, but I don't associate with people who are radically opposed to what I hold dear, or who love things I despise. Do you?

Are we really to believe that our president-elect is so different in his sentiments than Bill Ayers?

Of his friendship and association with Obama, Ayers says, "I don't buy the idea that guilt by association should have any part of our politics."

Really?

American voter, would you vote for a business associate and family friend of Osama bin Laden?

American voter, would you vote for a business associate and family friend of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh?

What have we done, America?

Could Barack Obama Pass a Security Background Check?

Given all the shady characters (Bill Ayers, Rashid Khalidi, Ali Abunimah, et al) that Barack Obama has been associated with, the question has come up--understandably--of whether Obama could pass a security clearance background check like average Americans have to go through when working around sensitive national security information.

Fox News interviewed Daniel Pipes, Director of the Middle East Forum, (see video below) who doesn't think Obama would pass. Pipes sees Obama's associations with terrorists, anti-Americans and other radicals as a serious obstacle to a security clearance.

Pipes tells of a person who was looking to get a clearance to work at the National Security Agency (NSA) who had a French girlfriend; no dice on the clearance.

I remember when I was in the Air Force and came back to the States after spending three years overseas. While on leave between my last duty station and my upcoming one, I went to Del Rio, Texas to visit a friend stationed at the Air Force Base there. While I was there we went over into Mexico a few times since Del Rio sits right on the border. We just did a little sight-seeing, partying and dating some Mexican gals.

When I got to my next duty station, coincidentally I was up for a regularly scheduled security clearance review. One of the questions they ask is whether you've been to any foreign countries recently. When I told them I'd done a little partying in Mexico, suddenly the bright lights came on and they got the bamboo shoots ready for my fingernails. They were eventually satisfied I wasn't a commie spy or drug runner, but they gave me the third degree for a while.

But Barack Obama has associations with multiple radical anti-Americans going back many years. Most of these people have made it clear that they have immeasurable and burning hatred for the United States and would throw the party of the century if it was destroyed.

Because Obama is elected, he gets a free pass around the security standards average Americans would be held do.

If Obama is elected president, he will have access to ALL of America's national security information. He will be entrusted with America's national security itself.

Imagine that: someone who probably couldn't pass an average security background check, in charge of America's national security!

"You look at someone like Senator Obama with his plethora of very strong associations with radicals, with subversives, with anti-Americans, it's inconceivable to me that he could get a standard security clearance to work for the U.S. government."

Nice Try, Senator Obama

You tried to lead us off the scent of the trail to your relationship with your racist, anti-American pastor, but it didn't work.

You tried to lead us off the scent of the trail to your relationship with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, but it didn't work.

Nice try, Senator Obama. We were just a little smarter than you thought we were.

Fox News Picks Up on Ayers Anarchist Interview

Fox News and other media outlets are picking up on the 2002 interview of Barack Obama's associate, the domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.

See the video below for Fox coverage.

This was the interview in which Ayers said things like:

"I'm as much an anarchist as I am a Marxist." - Bill Ayers, 2002

Seven days later, April 19, 2002, Obama was with Ayers at a discussion designed to advance an extreme liberal agenda.

"I'm very open about what I think and nobody here is surprised about what I think." - Bill Ayers

"There is a struggle over various religious fundamentalism, Jihad being the most visible, but the religious fundamentalism of the Christians and the Jews is equally troubling." - Bill Ayers

This interview--among many, many other things--shows how thin Obama's contention was that Ayers was "just a guy in the neighborhood" and then that he didn't know about Ayers radial terrorist past, and then that he thought Ayers was "rehabilitated."

Why would someone who wants to lead the United States associate with a terrorist who hates America and bombed the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, several police stations and other buildings, and firebombed a private home?

Why would a man who wants to lead our country write a foreword to a book written by this terrorist?

Why would anyone vote for someone who would associate with such anti-American trash?

Bill Ayers: Nobody Here is Surprised About What I Think

This video, which includes a radio interview with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers is very interesting in light of the fact that Barack Obama has tried to hide his relationship with Ayers ("he was just a guy in my neighborhood), and when caught, attempted to claim he didn't know about Ayers' terrorist past and Ayers ultra-radical Marxist views.

Obama and Ayers were both on the board of the Woods Fund for three years. The year this was recorded, they attended four board meetings together.

"Is one of those regrets that I took extreme measures against the United States at a time of tremendous crisis, no it is not. I don't regret that." - Bill Ayers

"The people of the world are being exploited and oppressed and militarized by the the great imperialistic powers led by the United States. That is the situation today in my view. It's a situation we should all be horrified at and we should all oppose." - Bill Ayers

"The White Panther Party was a group of cultural revolutionaries mainly. They were artists and anarchists and drug, dope smokers and a really good group of people." - Bill Ayers

ON PATRIOTISM:

"That the country is unanimous in this kind of suffocating narrow view of what September 11 represents and what it means and therefore you would kind of concluded in despair that everyone is a born again patriot." - Bill Ayers

It was noted at a press conference that Obama didn't wear a flag pin as most other public officials has. Obama was quoted as saying he doesn't like how the pin has come to represent patriotism in America. "I won't wear that pin on my chest. Instead I'm going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great."

ON MARXISM:

"I'm as much an anarchist as I am a Marxist." - Bill Ayers, 2002

"It's not that I want to punish your success. I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you that they've got a chance at success, too. I think when we spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody." - Barack Obama to Joe the Plumber

"From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs." - Karl Marx

ON AMERICA:

"If we were being fair and open minded, then if you looked around at the world today you would say that the greatest purveyor of violence, as King said, is our own government." - Bill Ayers, Jan 26, 2006

"We have enough troops that we're not just air raiding villages and killing civilians, which is causing enormous problems there." - Barack Obama, 2007

Do you agree with Bill Ayers? Then vote for Barack Obama.

Obama Supporter Thinks Homeschoolers, Pro-Lifers, Gun Owners Threaten America

Democrat Mark Warner is running for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring Republican John Warner this year.

Warner made a splash recently when a tape was revealed in which he said pro-lifers, homeschoolers, Christians and gun owners are a threat to "what it means to be an American:

you're going to see a coalition that has just about completely taken over the Republican Party in this state and if they have their way, it's going to take over state government. It's made up of the Christian Coalition, it's made up of the right to lifers, it's made up of the NRA, it's made up of the homeschoolers, it's made up of a whole coalition of people that have all sorts of different views that I think most of us in this room would find threatening to what it means to be an American.

LifeNews
points out today that Mark Warner is a strong supporter of Barack Obama.

Why is Barack Obama--the man who wants to lead America--so surrounded and supported by people who loathe America and loathe the people and institutions that make America great?

Do we want someone in the White House who is so surrounded by people who loathe our country and the everyday Americans who love America so?

Leftist Radicals Defend Unrepentant Terrorist Ayers

It seems a bunch of Leftist educational elitists have banded together in defense of domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.

WorldNetDaily reports hundreds of academic elites have signed a statement of support for Ayers.

Do they really expect this to mean anything to average Americans? How stupid do these elitists think we are? Pretty stupid, I'm sure...but I'm equally sure we're not.

They include lots of lofty sentiments about "challenging orthodoxy" and dogma, and say that characterizations of Ayers as an “unrepentant terrorist” and “lunatic leftist” are "unrecognizable to those who know or work with him."

Really? If Ayers has repented of his terrorism, I'd really like to see that. The last I knew, Ayers was still saying

"I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough."

He also recently bashed Americans fighting to keep the South Vietnamese free from the oppression of communist thugs.

Ayers also and bashed capitalism as being "built on exploitation, theft, conquest, war and racism."

He also said capitalism "must be defeated."

Since Barack Obama went to this man's home for a meet-and-greet launching Obama's political career, and Obama has worked with Ayers on various projects around Chicago, do we really want to elect someone who associates with a person who STILL holds such loathing for America?

Ayers isn't an "unrepentant terrorist" or “lunatic leftist”? These academics either can't or wont' admit that he is both, because they have too much love for "lunatic Leftists" to either see it or admit it.

CNN Expose on Obama-Ayers Association

It's almost unheard of that I would have anything good to say about CNN, but I must give credit where it's due for their pretty thorough examination of Barack Obama's connection to domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.

While most of the "mainstream" media--including CNN--has so far largely ignored Obama's associations with the man whose group, the Weathermen, bombed the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon and many other buildings, CNN has finally decided to actually do some journalism.

The video below is of CNN's report on Obama's dealings with Ayers; as you'll see, they're far more extensive than Obama's dismissal of "a guy in the neighborhood" lets on.

The Cleveland Leader also examines the CNN report, putting into text a considerable analysis of the CNN video. The Cleveland Leader article also shows a photo of Ayers doing what he does best: trampling the American flag.

From the Cleveland Leader article:

Obama himself has tried to downplay the relationship, arguing that "Ayers was just another guy in the neighborhood."

Ayers, however, was far from being just another guy. He co-founded the organization Weather Underground, which took credit for multiple bombings and targeted the Pentagon and the Capitol. Ayers was later acquitted of charges against him and joined the faculty at the University of Illinois in Chicago. But claims that Ayers is a "former radical" are unfounded.

AS the CNN piece revealed, Ayers may no longer use force, but he is still a radical. Just a few years ago, he told the New York Times that he didn't regret his past terrorist activities and that he believed he and his friends "should have done more." Furthermore, in April 2008, Ayers published a blog post in which he ranted against capitalism, describing it as a tool for oppression, thuggery, and slavery.

More on the associations of Obama and Ayers:
One of the places that CNN found the two having repeatedly crossed paths was Chicago's Annenberg Challenge project. Reporters scoured through board minutes and other records, which they say "according to program participants and records Bill Ayers fought to bring the Annenberg grant to Chicago." It was a "$50 million grant" that would be used to "match locally raised funds to improve schools".

According to CNN, Obama was "recruited as the chair" of Ayers' organization aimed at bringing the Annenberg project schools in order to improve the system: "For seven years, Bill Ayers and Obama, among many others, worked on funding for education projects including some experiments supported by Ayers."

CNN also found that Ayers and Obama served "on the board" of a second organization, the Woods fund. "Among its receipients: Jeremiah Wright's Trinity Church where Obama attended and a children and family justice center where Ayers' wife worked."

How about Obama's political career?
Shortly after joining the Annenberg board in 1995, a female state senator appointed Barack Obama as her apparent political heir. “Where was that introduction made?” CNN questioned? Simple: “in the home of the 60s radicals Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn.”

Obama didn't know about Ayers' terrorist past? Suuuuuure.

And Obama now denounces Ayers' terrorist acts...but doesn't denounce his own involvement with Ayers (most of us might have said something like "If I had known, I never would have allowed him to launch my political career, joined the board of an organization he created, or worked with him on the many projects I did.")

And let's not forget: Ayers is completely unrepentant for his terrorist acts, having stated on 911 that "I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough."

Barack Obama seems to find himself surrounded by people who loathe America: domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and even his never-been-proud-of-my-country wife Michelle Obama.

You know what they say about birds of a feather; can all of this disdain for America surrounding Obama be a mere coincidence?

Fear and Loathing in Washington D.C.

Should someone who holds such contempt and disdain for his own country--and is intimately surrounded with others who hold contempt for our country--be elected president of our country?

Barack Obama has a pattern of associating with people (like domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, and others) who loathe America.

Maybe the person who runs America should love America a little more than this.

Video: Sarah Palin Rebukes Obama Association With Domestic Terrorist

Here it is, the video of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin earlier today in Colorado, rebuking Senator Barack Obama for his association with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.

Ayers and his group of Weathermen bombed the U.S Capitol, the Pentagon and several other buildings, and on September 11, 2001 Ayers said

"I don't regret setting bombs. I feel we didn't do enough."

In addition to laying this properly at the feet of Barack Obama--even though the "mainstream" media has tried very hard to ignore this for over a year--she also clearly laid out the difference in how conservatives see America, and how liberals like Barack Obama and Joe Biden (who said it is "patriotic" to pay higher taxes) see America:
This is not a man who sees America and you and I see America. We see America as a force for good in this world.

And
"Our opponent though is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough that he is palling around with terrorists who would target their own country"

It's a sad, bad truth. But it's the truth.

I can't for the life of me figure out how someone can rationally say they love this country (the country they want to lead), all the while attending a church where the pastor bashes the United States as a source of unrelenting evil, and working with and going to the house of a man unrepentant for bombing U.S. government buildings, and whose wife said that only recently, as her husband received the Democrat nomination for president, has for the first time been proud of her country.

Tell it, Sarah!

ACLU Launches South Dakota Invasion

According to KELO, the ACLU is opening a new office in South Dakota.

That's all we need here in our good state: more pro-abortion, pro-homosexual, anti-Christian, anti-American advocacy.

Why can't these people just go live in one of the many anti-American liberal enclaves around the world and just leave normal patriotic folks alone?

Oh, I forgot: there's no place else in the world that's as good to live in as America. A version of the old "have your cake and eat it, too" syndrome: they love the benefits of America, but hate all the values that made it possible.

See Voices Carry for more in-depth analysis of the ACLU.

Former Senator Tom Daschle Trashes America

Steve Sibson at Sibby Online points a finger to former senator Tom Daschle's anti-Americanism.

From KELO:

"In less than a decade we've gone from being perceived as being the beacon of Democracy and justice all over the globe to a country whose government has little respect even for the most basic tenants of human rights."

Daschle also mentions World War II, but this statement shows that his grasp of history is spotty, at best.

His trashing of his own country (and mine) is undoubtedly a reference to our incarceration of terrorists and attempts to get information from them in order to prevent the next terrorist slaughter of innocent lives.

Daschle, if he thinks real hard, might remember that in war, it is normal for humane countries to incarcerate enemy soldiers to prevent them from continuing to fight against and kill our soldiers. And they usually remain there until the war is over. With no trials that treat war like a law enforcement issue.

That is a preferable solution, rather than the one terrorists use: shoot, blow up, stab, slash, burn, etc.

Which side is the more humane here? Daschle would do well to give his own country a little credit.

When we extract information from terrorists, we do so to save lives, not for sadistic enjoyment or thrills. And while we might use loud music or barking dogs, we don't behead or use drills and blow torches.

Daschle might give his own country a little credit there, too.

Perhaps Daschle's incapability to appreciate his own country is one of the reasons why he is a former U.S. senator.

What the Obamas REALLY Think of America

This video is a compilation of clips of Barack and Michelle Obama that illustrate what they really think of America.

America's history has not been perfect, nor has it been sinless. But I don't in any measure agree with Obama that it has been an "enormous tragic history."

Nor do I agree with his wife that there has been nothing to be proud of our country about until now.

Obama says, "Potentially, at least, we could create a society that is the model for the world. Uh, it isn't right now."

Oh, I beg to differ in the strongest possible terms. Our nation has been a model for the world since the day it was founded, and despite its failings (primarily the moral ones that Obama seems to want to exacerbate) it remains a model of freedom and prosperity to the world.

Self-loathing elitists are entitled to their opinion, but should they be elected to run the country?

*WARNING: The volume on this video is VERY loud, so turn down your volume before starting.

Obama Supported by Long List of 1960s Radicals

Daniel J. Flynn at the City Journal details quite a list of 1960s radicals who support Barack Obama for president.

Radical Michael Klonsky of the Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) is one. His group had clashes with police, and Klonsky eventually formed the Maoist Communist Party in the 1970s.

Mark Rudd is another supporter. He led an SDS chapter which formed a student strike at Columbia University. The article also says Rudd presided over the "the {SDS] organization’s metamorphosis into Weatherman" and was connected to the Fort Dix bomb plot that instead killed three Weathermen. Have he and his ilk changed much?

“Probably the biggest difference between Columbia SDS people in 1968 and in 2008 is forty years,” Rudd explained in an e-mail.

Also mentioned is Carl Davidson, another SDS nut who dabbled with Marxist groups.

Good ole Tom Hayden is another of these radicals backing Obama. Among his notorious accomplishments are causing trouble at the 1968 convention and marrying traitor "Hanoi" Jane Fonda.
Klonsky remembers Hayden plotting to spread nails on a highway; another SDS leader recalls Hayden encouraging activists to firebomb police cars.

Hayden is also one of the organizers of Progressives for Obama, a group Flynn says is a 'Who’s Who of SDS luminaries."

And of course there's Weathermen Bill Ayers who is a known associate of Obama's. Ayers is the domestic terrorist who bombed the U.S. Capitol, the Pentagon, several post offices and other locations. This is the man who said in a column on 911: "I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough."

And there are more...

Do these associations mean Barack Obama is an anti-American dirtbag like Tom Hayden or Bill Ayers? No.

But you have to ask yourself: would they be supporting Obama if Obama wasn't a pretty sure bet for advancing the kind of things they believe in?

Why I'm Voting Democrat

Ben Shapiro has a good column at TownHall.com today in response to a YouTube video called "I'm Voting Republican" which is making the internet rounds.

The video has a bunch of idiotic, stereotypical statements made by mock Republicans such as

A black couple says they're voting Republican because they "like a conservative majority on the Supreme Court," with the wife noting, "we really like knowing that even if we're separate, we'll still be called equal."

Shapiro responds with his own list of "Why I'm voting Democrat" including humorous but grounded in truth reasons.

The entire list is good, but the last one kinda sums up the whole liberal enchalada:
Most of all, I'm voting Democrat because I like the ideas they have over in France, but I don't feel like moving there. I'll threaten to move, but I really won't. After all, I have a good job, healthcare, lower taxes, free speech and a social framework that promotes family structure. And all of it is defended by the most effective fighting force on the planet.

That's liberalism: demanding the easy life without having to sacrifice anything or work for it.
