Joel Dykstra Kicks Off TV, Radio Campaign for Senate

This just in:

Sioux Falls, SD – Republican U.S. Senate candidate Joel Dykstra began his broadcast advertising campaign today, airing his first television and radio spots on stations across South Dakota.

The 30-second television ad features Dykstra with his family, including his wife Vicki and their three daughters – Sarah, Cynthia and Laura – along with his infant granddaughter Ellie. With only 50 days remaining until the November 4 election, Dykstra says that time is getting short for the voters to be given the opportunity to fairly and honestly compare the two candidates for South Dakota’s seat in the US Senate.

“As I say in the ad”, said Dykstra, “ voters deserve to see and hear from both candidates. Only an unfiltered, honest exchange between the candidates lets the voters decide who they want to send to Washington until the year 2015.

Dykstra noted that with very important legislative battles looming for the next congress, and with issues like energy and health care reform so pressing, having the voters understand the differences between the candidates in philosophy, background and approach is vital.

“The ads remind South Dakotans that I am committed to engaging voters directly in an open discussion about the critical issues facing our country and what can be done to make Washington work better for America. I hope Tim Johnson’s campaign will allow him to participate in some kind of public forum – the people I talk to around the state expect it.
