Sens. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) and Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) told Cybercast News Service on Tuesday that they would support raising taxes to pay the $36.3 trillion needed to pay for promised Medicare benefits over the next 75 years.
You didn't seriously think the liberals were going to pay for it out of their own pockets, did you?
You knew they were going to come knocking on your door, asking you to cough up YOUR paycheck, didn't you?

$36.3 trillion is only a government estimate and we all know how accurate those are historically. In 1965 when Medicare was first enacted the projected cost in 1990 was to be $9 billion. The actual costs in 1990 were $66 billion! Even adjusting for inflation the costs were 165% higher than projected. When health care is "free" demand will increase as will government graft and we'll be facing costs approaching a staggering 100 trillion 2008 dollars!
100,000,000,000,000 dollars! That will be about $300,000 per man, woman and child or $4000 per annum beginning at birth (presuming an average life expectancy of 75 years).
