New Homosexual Caucus Formed in Congress

You have to hand it to homosexuals and their apologists: they really know how to mobilize and get things done. They really make a lot of pro-family folks look like a bunch of lazy, timid amateurs.

OneNewsNow reports the homosexual agenda has received even more open and bold support in Congress.

Democrats Barney Frank of Massachusetts and Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin are the only open homosexuals serving in Congress. They have joined with Republicans Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of Florida and Christopher Shays of Connecticut, and 50 other Democrats to create the House Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Caucus. Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, says it is a sad day when Congress enshrines official promotion of sexual immorality.

For a constituency who only make up 2.9% of the population, they sure carry a lot of clout. Perhaps unlike Christians, they understand the old adage: the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Given the pathetic congress we have and the poor choice of presidential candidates, people who claim to believe the Bible either don't really believe what they claim to, or they're too scared someone might call them names to speak up like the homosexual lobby does.

The article lists the members of the LGBT Caucus: Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Barney Frank (D-MA), Rob Andrews (D-NJ), Xavier Becerra (D-CA), Lois Capps (D-CA), Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Joseph Crowley (D-NY), Diana DeGette (D-CO), Keith Ellison (D-MN), Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ), Mike Honda (D-CA), Barbara Lee (D-CA), James McGovern (D-MA), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Linda Sánchez (D-CA), Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Hilda Solis (D-CA), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Henry Waxman (D-CA), Anthony Weiner (D-NY), Peter Welch (D-VT), Howard Berman (D-CA), Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), Robert Brady (D-PA), Michael Capuano (D-MA), Susan Davis (D-CA), Rosa DeLauro (D-CT), Eliot Engel (D-NY), Anna Eshoo (D-CA), Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), Phil Hare (D-IL), Rush Holt (D-NJ), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX), Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX), Patrick Kennedy (D-RI), Dennis Kucinich (D-OH), Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), Doris Matsui (D-CA), James Moran (D-VA), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-Washington, D.C.), Frank Pallone (D-NJ), Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL), Steven Rothman (D-NJ), José Serrano (D-NY), Chris Shays (R-CT), Pete Stark (D-CA), Betty Sutton (D-OH), Ellen Tauscher (D-CA), Niki Tsongas (D-MA), Robert Wexler (D-FL), Lynn Woolsey (D-CA).

Bob,

You do realize that many gay people are pro-family, don't you? In fact, same-sex marriage and adoption advocates are exceedingly pro-family. (That's sort of the point)

Yet you try to portray them as the opposite, furthering the us-versus-them mentality. Do you really think that will solve anything in the end?

If they were really pro-family, then they would advocate males and females marrying each other to create a family. That is how families are created.

It wasn't heterosexuals who created the us-versus-them mentality. Heterosexuals are living as God intended and as nature indicates is correct; homosexuals are the ones departing from the norm, creating the separate group.

Bob,

Alright, let's assume that it wasn't heterosexuals who made the us versus them mentality. Does that make it ok for you to perpetuate it?

There you are, writing your articles and communicating with the public, with every opportunity to start bridging the gap and helping to resolve all this opposition in our country. Yet what do you do? You whine about gay people suing their employers for discrimination, report everything that's wrong about gay people instead of what's good, decry the very thought that people who happen to be attracted to their own sex want to have their relationships legally protected, generalize statistics and archaic scripture to justify your blinding disgust with homosexuality, make misleading blanket statements like "heterosexuals are living as God intended," and cling to the haughty idea that you hold the truth and anyone who disagrees with you is wrong.

Why not write articles about the GOOD things that gay people do, instead of looking for things to complain about? Yes, it's true that the gay community is responsible for much of the anger and divisiveness, but not all of it. Christians are responsible too. So why not be the bigger man, the loving, compassionate one, as Christ calls you to be? Maybe write about the efforts that gays and Christians (perhaps YOU in particular) have made together to try and work out their differences and reach a compromise? I look forward to reading something like that...but I won't hold my breath.

Bob, who is really pro-family here?...

Responsible adults wishing to marry each other and raise children (biological or not)?

or

Anti-gay Christians demonizing gay people as little more than mentally disturbed and unhealthy, and portraying them as the enemy, thereby making young gay teens afraid to come out to their parents and causing dishonesty, resentment, hurt relationships, exclusion, fear, and ultimately, BROKEN families?

I think you need to get over yourself, grow up, and realize that just because certain people do things that you disagree with or find immoral, that does not give you or anyone else the right to call for its prohibition.

At the end of the day, does it REALLY matter to a man in South Dakota whether or not a loving gay couple, whom he most likely will never meet, can finally be granted equal protection under the law in Massachusetts or California? It may not be important to you, but you can rest assured that it's important to them.

What is your ultimate goal? What is it that you want to have happen to gay people?

Gay people DO advocate males and females marrying each other. They're not trying to keep anyone from doing that. It'd be nice if they were included though.

The reason I talk about what homosexual activists are doing wrong is because that's what is in the news all the time. There is always some new area or effort where homosexuals are trying to rewrite the standards of sexuality, right and wrong, and nature itself. And since our "mainstream" media is complicit in these efforts and failing to provide a voice of truth in the public square, someone has to.

I can't remember the last time I heard about police raiding someones bedroom, so I think homosexuals would be able to do what they want to do if they'd just leave the rest of us alone. But apparently that isn't good enough. Homosexual activists demand hearty acceptance, legitimacy for their practices, and even celebration of those practices.

What's more, activists demand the right to redefine a fundamental and sacred institution to include that which by nature it can never include, and by pretending inclusion would render linguistic recognition of the original article meaningless.

In other words, by demanding legitimization of an unnatural relationship and demanding he redefinition of a fundamental human relationship to further that goal of legitimization, homosexual activists are asking for something they have no right to ask for, and the rest of society has no justification, no reason and no right to grant.

There is nothing misleading about the statement that "heterosexuals are living as God intended" in the context of sexual practices. God made it clear in the Bible that men were to have sex with women and vice versa.

About 82% of Americans claim to believe in the "archaic Scriptures" to which I refer, so if I'm believing in a myth, at least I'm not alone. But the fact remains that those "archaic Scriptures" haven't been proven wrong about a single thing in all the thousands of years since they were written.

Meanwhile, man's scientific wisdom and standards of morality are continually being redrawn--especially as science continues almost daily to find out it was wrong about something.

You speak of compromise. But compromise with error and sin is inappropriate. Why should someone embrace error merely for the sake of compromise.

I have every right to advocate the institutions of marriage and family not be tampered with. It is my constitutional right and my Biblical responsibility.

Ultimately, I'd like to see homosexuals give up this immoral and unhealthy practice. Short of that, I'd settle for them doing it in private, and stop demanding that society accept it, legitimize it, and undermine the institutions of marriage and family by demanding their unions receive official parity with marriage.

Hate to break it to you, Bob, but gay people will be around forever.

As for them "doing it in private," I assume you mean sex and nothing more, which is sad, because A) most people already do have sex in private and B) there is so, so much more to gay people than their sex lives. If you simply mean you'd prefer it if gay people show all affection in private, even if it's holding hands, because it makes you uncomfortable -- then get over it. You are perfectly entitled to your opinions, but you are sorely mistaken if you think you have the right to dictate how total strangers should live based on your personal disgust.

Just face it, Bob. The "homosexual activists" you hate so much are not trying to destroy anything or take away any of your rights. They are not preventing a single heterosexual person from marrying. You, on the other hand, are trying to cling to your rights while trampling over those who want equality, and pushing them into their small corner of society, where you'd rather pretend they don't exist. Shame on you.

You're right: homosexuals have been around almost as long as the human race, and probably will until God sets things right on this planet.

But people have an obligation to speak out for what is true and right, and people like me will continue to do so until that time comes.

I don't have the right to expose my genitals in public, nor do I have the right to whiz in public, even if I turn and face a tree. It isn't decent, just as male-male or female-female sexual contact isn't decent. Society as a whole gets to set the standard of decency, so we can hope that society may one day return to it's senses.

If homosexual activists just wanted to do what they do in private, they probably wouldn't be hurting anyone except themselves. But when homosexual activists want to redefine marriage, force people to accept and legitimize their sexual practices, and even curtail the freedom of religion and speech as is already happening in places like Colorado, it is a threat to decent society, and ultimately a threat to everyone's freedom.

And people like me will continue to speak out about this wrong, and advocate a return to sanity for our government.
