Going to the Values Voter Summit in Washington

I had wanted to attend this year's Family Policy Council Washington Briefing as I did last year. Being an election year, this year's Washington Briefing aka Values Voter Summit promises to be even better than last years.

However, due to a very hectic schedule, skyrocketing air fares and a number of unexpected expenses, it just wasn't in the cards...until today. Due to a near-miraculous confluence of events (thank the Lord), I'm going to be able to go. And I'll have media credentials again, and will be blogging the event live.

The summit will be Friday and Saturday, with a worship service Sunday morning before I fly back. Some of the confirmed speakers include actor Stephen Baldwin, Gary Bauer, William Bennett, Chuck Colson, Don Feder, Maggie Gallagher, Tom DeLay, Lou Dobbs, Newt Gingrich, Sean Hannity, Roger Hedgecock, Bishop Harry Jackson, Alveda King, Michael Medved, Star Parker, Mitt Romney, Phyllis Schlafly, and Michael Steel.

Invited but not yet confirmed include John McCain, Barack Obama, Sarah Palin, and Rush Limbaugh.

Should be an extremely busy but very fun time. I'll be prepping for the trip Wednesday and flying to D.C. on Thursday, so posting will be reduced for a couple of days this week.

Here's a slideshow of Day 2 from last year:

Tom Delay?

Remember, DeLay was the one recorded in Saipan to the free-market capitalists there that "they were what is great about the Republican party." Saipan, where workers were kept in squalid conditions and were forced to have abortions.

DeLay, close associate of Abramoff, who bilked Native American tribes and misled evangelicans by taking money from both sides of the political debate over gambling?

You can look it up.

I'm glad the Family Policy Council is displaying their high moral standards in their choice of speakers.

Have a great time, Bob. Better you than me!
