The Gods of Liberalism Revisited

The lie hasn't changed, and we still fall for it as easily as ever.  But how can we escape the snare?

B-1 Bomber was From Ellsworth AFB

The Rapid City Journal is confirming that the B-1 bomber which was involved in the incident in Qatar earlier today was from Ellsworth Air Force Base here in Rapid City.

The crew made it to safety, and the article says that details are uncertain as to whether the crew was from Ellsworth or from another base.

Sgt. Sandra Lucas of the Al-Udeid Air Base public affairs office confirmed Friday afternoon that the incident involved an Ellsworth plane. But she could not confirm whether any or all of the plane’s crew members were from Ellsworth.

The Air Force says the bomber was taxiing after landing at Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar and caught fire. Few details are available, although the Air Force says the aircraft was involved in a ground incident.

All four crew members aboard the plane safely evacuated, according to the Air Force.

It was initially reported that the bomber crashed, but reports now say that wasn't the case. One report said that some of the munitions aboard exploded, but I've only seen that in one place, so don't know for sure if it's accurate.

You may notice from the Rapid Reply comments at the bottom of this article that there are a few childish liberals who, even in the midst of a frightening incident such as this (frightening for those involved, and especially for all the families of B-1 crews), feel compelled to make petty political jabs.

They should be ashamed, though I'm sure they're too far gone into their own petty little world to be.

President Bush made the right decision to invade Afghanistan, and again in Iraq. Our military heroes do their jobs whether they agree with those decisions or not, and their families sacrifice along with them.

For once, I wish the Left could get it's collective act together and grow up.

Thank God the B-1 crew is alright.

Sounds like the mentality of those who called Vietnam veterans baby killers.

I think it could have been an incident having to do with a covert attack on the nuclear plant in Iran. It seems that rogue elements within our government have plans to do things which leaders in the military have a problem with. Gen. Fallon retired a few weeks back and was standing in the way of the fascist Bush administration's attempt to attack Iran. 911 was pulled off by rogue elements within our government to bring on what is happening now to our once great Constitutional Republic with checks and balances. They have destroyed what is left of our freedom while encouraging the creation of the SPP or North Amerikan Union. This is the 'New World Order' in action.

It appears that rather than discuss the relief that the crew is safe, you have chosen to exploit the story and present your political beliefs as fact. There is no evidence that our government had any involvement in the 911 incident and I've seen no rational arguments to support the theory even in possibility. However, you have stated it as fact in your comment. Why then should I give serious consideration to your accusations involving Iran and suggestion of a covert attack with regard to this particular bomber incident? Your facts are in fact only your theory are they not? Tell me... amid these accusations against the government, do you have any compassion for our military personnel and their family and friends or do you feel they are an extension of the government and therefore vile beings to be despised and considered deserving of whatever hideous fate is wished upon or befalls them?

Carrie, I think you miss the point. There is a world history out there that none of us was taught at school rich in valuable information that tells the stories that lead you to where we are today and why the machine has been taken out of the people's hands and held by those who may not be innocent in intent. By this I mean the government. Military personnel are the extention of that arm. These men and women who place their lives in harms way to protect and serve are not there to serve the intent of the few but are there for the nation. Do they not deserve for us the people to do our homework to ensure that their lives are not wasted on an agenda that we the people do not know about or support. The evidence is there. Tons of it. But if we the people are too lazy to read, too fearful or ready to accept without question, too uninformed to take back our power then they sacrifice their lives for nothing but a downward spiral that most will not be able to identify until it is too late for this nation of people and perhaps the world. Make haste dear one. Where there is smoke there is fire and the sky's are black.

"Childish Liberals?" I sir am certainly no childish liberal but I certainly retain the right to question my government rather than nod along in blind obedience! I don't agree with the Bush/Cheney policy of playing the role of the worlds police force and wasting billions of taxpayer dollars that could be better off spent on saving our own economy and securing Americas borders first. Is it a petty political jab to question Americas role in the world? Give me a break, as a veteran I'm grateful for our freedoms. I also believe endless pre-emptive war on countries that had nothing to do with the 911 attacks equals insanity. You think things are bad now wait till we attack Iran!

Sentry, Bob never suggested you or anyone else should partake in "blind obedience." Nor did he say you, or anyone else, didn't have a right to question government policy and actions. The article was about the aircraft and focused on the "safety of the crew", especially since it was initially thought that the aircraft had crashed. With that in mind, I believe Bob was referring to some of the comments submitted that were insensitive to the crew members, their family and friends. He did, after all, say, "You may notice from the Rapid Reply comments at the bottom of this article that there are a few childish liberals who, even in the midst of a frightening incident such as this (frightening for those involved, and especially for all the families of B-1 crews), feel compelled to make petty political jabs."

Sentry, he didn't say "all" liberals -- he said "a few childish liberals." He was referring to specific people who made specific comments that he felt were inappropriate in light of a specific situation that involved the crew members, their family and friends.

Blind obedience would more likely be (for a liberal) to suggest that no liberal at any time says anything inappropriate or incorrect or insensitive!

"They should be ashamed, though I'm sure they're too far gone into their own petty little world to be.

And you are form what planet?

"Our military heroes do their jobs whether they agree with those decisions or not, and their families sacrifice along with them."

Nothing against them, but if they wouldn't play allong with the gameand nobody would take a weapon in there hands again.
Then Warlords like Bush could go and fight there own wars, wich they never will do course there cowards en that will show then and then we all can live together in peace:)

If the article was truly about the aircraft and focused on the "safety of the crew", then why post crap like 'President Bush made the right decision to invade Afghanistan, and again in Iraq.', and accuse people of exploiting the story and presenting political beliefs as fact.

Anonymous, that quote was in the response to the article and the comments he was referring to.

Anonymous (11:07 am), true peace would be a wondrous thing, but until such time as it exists, if ever it does, we must be able to defend ourselves. A trained military is the most effective means of keeping the peace. Trained military means service men and women that are disciplined and prepared to fight for our citizens and country. Your suggestion that they defy orders, picking what ones they will and will not follow, is not realistic. You think we have chaos and bad things happening in the world now -- your idea would give a whole new level to chaos and it wouldn't be a good one!

Dear Sir,

You wrote:

"President Bush made the right decision to invade Afghanistan, and again in Iraq. Our military heroes do their jobs whether they agree with those decisions or not, and their families sacrifice along with them."

Perhaps you are right. You might wish to however, take a look at the following response which seems to address your assertions right on the mark: "You Bunch of Losers – Get Real!" You can find it by searching for that string.

Thank you
