Supporters of Yes on 8, the California constitutional amendment to protect marriage known as Proposition 8, have been plagued with a lot of theft and vandalism of their signs.
Interesting how the side of "tolerance" and "freedom" just can't stand the freedom of someone else to defend marriage and normal sexual relations.
They've struck a big blow against freedom of speech and religious expression in Colorado with their pro-homosexual "restroom chaos" bill.
Many homosexual activists haven't the slightest qualm about quashing your freedom while demanding acceptance, legitimization and license to trash our most fundamental institutions.

OCTOBER 22, 1836, General Sam Houston was sworn in as the first President of the Republic of Texas.
As a teenager, after his father died, Houston ran off to live with the Cherokee Indians on the Tennessee River, being adopted by Chief Oolooteka and given the name "Raven."
Three years later, Houston returned to town, opened a school, joined the army and fought in the War of 1812, being noticed by General Andrew Jackson.
In 1818, wearing Indian dress, Sam Houston led a delegation of Cherokee to Washington, D.C., to meet with President Monroe. Elected to Congress in 1823, Sam Houston became Governor of Tennessee in 1827.
After a failed marriage, Sam Houston moved to Texas, where he was made Commander to fight Santa Anna.
The Texas Declaration of Independence stated: "When a government has ceased to protect the lives, liberty, and property of the people...and...becomes an instrument in the hands of evil rulers for their oppression....it is a...sacred obligation to their posterity to abolish such government, and create another in its stead."
The Texas Declaration ended: "Conscious of the rectitude of our intentions, we fearlessly and confidently commit the issue to the decision of the Supreme Arbiter of the Destinies of Nations."

Some good coverage from the Rapid City Journal on last night's debate between Republican U.S. House candidate Chris Lien and Democrat incumbent Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin.
One of the topics discussed was abortion:
Lien said abortion issues should be left to the discretion of states, not the federal government. Adding that he staunchly opposes abortion, Lien said the ballot measure contains precautions that some feel are proper, including exceptions in instances of rape, to prevent serious health problems and to save a woman's life.
Herseth Sandlin said the proposal is ambiguous and should be rejected because it will interfere with women's private decisions, adding that the government should not meddle in medicine.
Herseth Sandlin and Lien both decried the bailout and said tougher oversight must be exercised over the financial sector.
Sioux Falls – With just two weeks until Election Day, South Dakota Family Policy Council “Faith, Family, Freedom Bike Tour - Standing for America's First Freedoms ~ Vote your Values” is under way.
The ride will cover nearly 500 miles visiting pastors and community leaders, concerned citizens, and churches, October 20 – October 28. It is part of their broader effort to mobilize churches to encourage their membership to Vote Values.
Chris Hupke, President, South Dakota Family Policy Council stated SDFPC is leading the voter awareness campaign that will have him and others bike-riding South Dakota in an effort to implore people to vote values in this upcoming election November 4, 2008. Hupke said there will be a significant emphasis on supporting Initiated Measure 11 – “This is the most important vote I will ever make. Combined with the Presidential, U.S. Senate and House, and State Legislative races, wow. We must vote!”
Hupke shared Galatians 6:9 as his inspiration in this effort: "And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart."
Objective: The tour seeks to increase the “Values Voter” Turnout, leading to the highest voter turnout in South Dakota election history.

“The ‘Faith, Family, Freedom Tour’ will reach thousands with an encouraging message for South Dakotans to vote their values.” Hupke stated.
“We’re calling on all South Dakotans to stand for the principles of representative government, and vote. What our Founding Fathers set forth in this great nation is incredible. The United States of America has brought liberty to more people than any other nation in world history. President John Adams said, ‘Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.’ Adams words should sear in the mind of every American of faith their most critical role in keeping America great.”
Hupke said inspiration for the tour was driven from his organization’s desire to see abortion end and to see higher standards of ethics, integrity, and accountability in the institution of government.
“What voters do in the polls says a lot for how they view our country. Every day people vote: the products they buy, the media consumed, the churches they attend, and how they’ll educate their children. If a business does not operate with high ethical standards consumers should not endorse their practices by consuming their products. Selection of elected officials and laws that will govern this state and nation is no different. The vote is the most basic principle of freedom in government and the world saw that with the pictures of ink stained fingers from Iraq and Afghanistan.”
